Daily consumption of 2 to 3 cups of homemade yogurt led to complete remission in 169 (89%) of 189 patients with irritable bowel syndrome included in the study. Complete remission was defined as the relief of pre-existing irritable bowel syndrome symptoms and 1 or 2 normal bowel movements daily. These findings were presented October 16, 2017 at the World Congress of Gastroenterology in Orlando, Florida.
